Deadline for Nashville Family Conference is Drawing Near!

It's not too late to register for the 2015 Nashville Family Conference! The deadline for discounted online registration is May 19, 2015, although registration at the door for a slightly higher price is available. 

The Heritage Ministry Center is very pleased and thankful to be hosting the 2015 Nashville Family Conference! The annual Family Conferences are a great source of fellowship and encouragement for many. This year, the Conference theme is, "Draw Near to God." It is our sincere hope that every person who attends will be challenged to draw closer to God in their own life, and their relationships.

Speakers include Dr. S.M. Davis, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and family, the Bates family, David and Jason Benham (the Benham
brothers), and many others! In Nashville, over 1,000 Christians, many of them homeschoolers, gather each year to hear dynamic preaching, Godly encouragement, make new friends, and experience like-minded fellowship. With God-focused programs for your children and young people, it is certain to be an experience the whole family will not soon forget! Held on the beautiful grounds of the Heritage Ministry Center, this year's Nashville Family Conference will be a time to get away as a family and to spend time with the Lord and other Christians. Mother and Daughter Sewing Workshop

Join us at the Heritage Ministry Center for a Mother and Daughter Sewing Workshop! This two-day event will be a time of fellowship between mothers and daughters as they learn a valuable and beautiful homemaking skill together. 

Attendees will be taught basic sewing skills by an accomplished seamstress, and will even have the opportunity to make a garment for their own use by the end of the class. Topics include using the sewing machine, cutting and fitting, buying proper fabrics, using a pattern, and finishing a garment. 


The Mother and Daughter Sewing Workshop will be held at the Heritage Ministry Center on June 5-6, starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday and running to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The class will begin with a field trip to Joann's to for the attendees to purchase their sewing supplies. A project will be completed by the end of the class; those attending may choose between a skirt, apron or culottes.  Attendees must bring their own sewing machine. 

The cost will be $125 for a mother and a daughter, with $25 for each additional daughter. Individuals who would like to attend may do so for $75. Price includes all meals from Friday's lunch to Saturday's lunch, and on-site lodging.

Vintage Homemaking Workshop

The Heritage Ministry Center is hosting a workshop for ladies, and especially mothers and daughters, that focuses on growing feminine skills and family relationships!

Vintage Homemaking Skills Workshop will be held June 4-5, 2015, from noon Thursday through 4:00 Friday. Those attending will have the opportunity to learn old-fashioned homemaking skills such as baking bread, using sourdough, making butter, cheese, yogurt, keifer and other fermented foods, canning, making natural soaps and cleaning products, and beginning knitting and crocheting.  Come learn new skills, spend quality time together, and meet and enjoy fellowship with others as well!

The Vintage Homemaking Skills Workshop will be held June 4-5, 2015 at the Heritage Ministry Center in Madison, Tennessee (Nashville area).  The cost for the workshop, including housing and meals is $90 for a mother and a daughter. Teach Them Diligently Convention Speaker!

Come by and see us tomorrow, Friday, or Saturday at booth #228 at the Teach Them Diligently Convention! Also, our own Terri Kelly from Heritage Ministry Center will be speaking on Thursday night in room Lincoln B from 8-9, presenting her new curriculum for families and young people: With Their Hands: Practical Living Skills for Youth! This curriculum, based on God's design for family unity and diligence in our character, will focus on reviving lost and practical skills for self-sufficiency. Come by, visit us, and gain new ideas for schooling!

Family Farmsteading Workshop


Do you desire to move toward a more self-sustaining and rural lifestyle, but don’t know where to start? Come and join our Family Farmstead: the Suburban Farmette”- a Beginner’s Guide to Sustainable Living in a Small Space Workshop! In this one-day workshop, we will explore the benefits of simpler, healthier and organic living, and discover how to lead your family to a more self-sustaining lifestyle, even if you live in the city!


This practical and fun workshop will be a time of hands-on learning as we not only learn the wisdom of eating as God intended, but how to raise what we eat on our own property, even our backyard! The Family Farmstead: the “Suburban Farmette” workshop will assist you in laying the foundation to be self-sufficient, and give a springboard to learn even more about frugal and rural living!


Topics will include gardening, running a small family dairy, raising clean and healthy meat, canning, making homemade butter, kefir, cheese and soap. Together, we will visit a local goat dairy and a family cattle farm. And, you will even get ideas for marketing your extra products!


Family Farmstead: the “Suburban Farmette” is hosted by a family who has created their own “suburban farmette” and now desires to teach others the valuable lessons that they have learned. Come and have a time of fellowship with each other and with other families as you learn how to be self-sufficient and work together!


Family Farmstead: the “Suburban Farmette” will be held at the Heritage Ministry Center in Madison, Tennessee, from Monday night, June 8, at 7:00 p.m., to Wednesday, June 10, at 1:00 p.m. The workshop $125 for a family, with meals included. Nashville Teach Them Diligently Convention Accommodations

The Heritage Ministry Center is offering a limited number of accommodations for the Nashville Teach Them Diligently Convention! Being located only 8 minutes from the Gaylord Opryland, our hotel rooms are an easy distance from the convention site, and are much more affordable than many other accommodation sites. Many of our family-friendly rooms contain bunk beds. Our rooms can sleep up to five, and are arranged around a central kitchenette with a full refrigerator/freezer, sink, microwave, counterspace, and electrical outlets. For those who need more than one room, the second room is discounted! Limited hook-ups for motor homes and RVs are also available.
